Tonight we got together with a bunch of old friends, simply because it’d been way too long.
After we all met up in American Fork for dinner, we realized that trying to find seating for 13 at Cafe Rio on a Saturday night was next to impossible. Luckily, the Becks were gracious enough to invite us up to their Alpine residence, so that we could take our food and enjoy dinner in the comfort of their home. While eating, we went around the table so that everyone could take a minute to fill us in on what they were up to these days. It was pretty informative…here’s a recap:
- Kedra’s still very involved with her genetics research projects…and while she claims to be battling cheet grass, we all know she’s engineering the next generation of superheroes. Jer is working for “the multi-lingual man” at LingoTek, hoping for a big money exit.
- Justin and Jeri Ann have their hands full of adorableness with Ruthie. Justin announced that he’s entering the Gold’s Gym World’s Strongest Ex-Gymnast contest. (Airs on FSN this April)
- Kathryn and Bobby are both very involved in the medical field. Bobby announced that he has a cardiac output of “at least 5.” When asked how well he understands what that means, he replied, “at least 5″.
- Harry and Sarah are looking to move on to exciting things in sunny California. Fashion or law school for Harry, speech pathologizing for Sarah. (If speech pathologizing doesn’t pan out, she’ll look to become a full-time science fair judge…something her friends will never let her live down.)
- Katy just got her first job as a nurse (!) and Nate is enjoying scarring innocent, 7th grade children as the school’s health teacher.
- T-Ron is working at Belcan, engineering nuclear drill bits. That’s right, I said nuclear. Little known fact: The radiation gives his skin a spooky green glow in total darkness.
Later, we watched What Lies Beneath in the basement theater. Casting Harrison Ford as a bad guy is so unsettling. It felt like the equivalent of watching Darth Vader remove his helmet to reveal Han Solo.
Special thanks to Jer and Bobby for bilaterally planning this event. I’d love to do it monthly (no, no guys…daily! No, HOURLY!)
