Another VanWagenen Reception

We wanted to hike Mt. Timp today with some friends, but the threat of rain scuttled our plans. I was a sad panda.

But on the bright side, it freed us up to hang out with Leah and Jonny and help them set up a reception for Leah’s younger brother Kurt and his wife. The event was beautifully planned and the weather cooperated nicely. It was fun to catch up with some family (family–assuming Kristie’s an adopted VanWagenen, like I keep hearing) and friends that we hadn’t seen in a while.

Dani’s Reception

Tonight we attended the wedding reception of our friend Dani (who Kristie cheered with at BYU). It was a beautiful affair, and we got to catch up with a bunch of the old gang, including David Grant, Eric & Tracy Snowder, Dimitri, Katie, Mckell, Matt, Josh and Ashylnn. I think I’d like to buy the home they held the reception at someday.

Qualtrics Family BBQ

So Qualtrics hosted its first annual family BBQ on Saturday, and it had a great turnout. The recipe for success included:

  1. Catering by J-Dawgs
  2. Massive kickball tournament
  3. Karaoke contest with four pairs of U2 tickets to winners
  4. A bicycle obstacle course with prize money
  5. The opportunity to finally debut Lilah’s Qualtrics onesie

Our kickball team came in close 2nd out of four, and I got beat for first in the obstacle course by 2-tenths of a second. Still mad about that. Otherwise, it was a great party.

Eagle Girls Lunch

Kami, Leah and Kristie got together for a girls lunch to catch up and talk about babies, I presume.

I think this picture is hilarious

Jesperson BBQ

Leah and Jonny had us over for a swim and a BBQ. Great company, great food…and we got to debut Lilah’s hippo-eared bathing suit. Awesome.

New Grill!

Over the last couple weeks we’ve been receiving accessories and parts to brand-new Weber grill, an extraordinarily generous housewarming gift from my Auntie Cathy in Philadelphia. BBQ season is upon us and we can’t WAIT to get grilling!!

Post-assembly — looking slick!

We now have a summer full of BBQ’s to look forward to. You’re too kind, Auntie Cathy…thank you!! XOXO

Baby Shower with Friends

Today Kristie was the special guest of wonderful a baby shower put on by Leah and Kendra. I wasn’t in attendance, but Kristie was absolutely gushing about it all day. The food and decor were pretty amazing, as you can gather from the pictures below.

We feel so grateful for all our friends that have supported Kristie (and by extension, our little family) during this exciting time. We love you all–thanks for your kindness and generosity.

Tanner Baby Shower

Jordan and grandma Tanner were so kind to throw Kristie a baby shower with the Tanner clan. It was held at the Coleman’s new home, and almost every girl on the Tanner side was able to make it. Since I was not invited, I can only assume that the girls had lots of fun doing whatever they do at these things.

Kristie received some really wonderful gifts, which we really, really appreciate. Thanks to everyone that came!

Pre-Valentines Surprise

At about 2:30pm on Thursday I got a text from Kristie at work, informing me that she’d prepared a Valentines evening and I wasn’t allowed home till 6:00. Suffice it to say I love that girl.

Art-attack

Now that we don’t work together any more, us LJ alum met up to grab some good curry and catch up. After dinner, Andrew and Rebecca invited us all over for an extremely tasty dessert and rockin’ round of Blokus. The work place certainly won’t be the same without bizdevbear and the ppc wizard. #goodtimes

p.s. Andrew – notice anything missing from that picture? Automagic.
